How Rig Trader works, what it costs, and what you can post.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Browsing is free, and posting a listing is free. Rig Trader only helps you find and list the RV, it is not part of the transaction.
Do I need an account?
You can browse and search without one. You need an account to post a listing, save an RV, or message a seller. Signing up takes a name and an email address, there is no password. We email you a one-time sign-in link that expires after 15 minutes.
How do buyers and sellers talk to each other?
Through messages on the site. Every conversation is tied to one listing, and neither side ever sees the other's email address unless they choose to share it. You get an email letting you know a message arrived, but it never contains the other person's contact details. If you would rather carry on by phone, email, or in person, you are free to swap those details in the chat, that is between the buyer and the seller.
Can I edit or take down a listing?
Yes. From your dashboard you can edit a listing, make it inactive so it disappears from search while you keep the details, or delete it permanently. Deleting also removes its photos, video, and messages.
How long does a listing stay up?
6 months. We email you 14 days before that, and renewing from your dashboard restarts the clock for another 6 months. There is no limit on how many times you can renew, and it stays free.
What happens when a listing expires?
It moves to your archive: it stops appearing in search and its page is no longer public. Its photos and videos are deleted at that point, storage is the one real cost of running this, but the listing details stay in your dashboard, and renewing puts it back. You will need to add photos again.
What data do you keep, and for how long?
Your account keeps a name and an email address for as long as the account exists. Listing details are kept until you delete the listing; photos and videos are kept while the listing is live and are deleted when it expires or is deleted. Messages are kept so both sides can refer back to a conversation, and go when the listing does.
